Diya Shah

Diya started learning Bharatanatyam at Abhinaya Dance Company at the age of ten, where she has studied under the guidance of Smt. Mythili Kumar. Diya has performed in the annual student dance recitals and at several Bay Area temples as a part of Abhinaya Dance Company. 

Outside of dance, she was an active student at Lynbrook High School, a part of the cross country and track team for many years, as well as the school's choir. Later this fall, Diya will attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for systems engineering. 

Tonight marks her Arangetram — the formal solo debut that ascends the stage in tribute to her guru, her family, and the tradition that has shaped her.
